Our Customers
Our customers are the most important part of our operation. One can have the finest pub in the land, with the best products and finest food around but without the customers its all a waste of time.  Our ideal customer is one who enjoys coming to The Triton,  likes to be made welcome, enjoys a few leisurely drinks, and some nice food - whether it be a small snack, a bar meal or a full a la carte dining experience in our restaurant. They chat with our staff, with other customers, and go home happy and content.

In practice, many of our customers fit that bill very snugly. Some are unhappy when they arrive, but very few actually leave The Triton feeling unhappy. (If you do leave unhappy, please do let us know why, so we can try and make ammends and make you happy again. Please?). Though in reality, not many of our customers leave the Triton feeling hungry - our food portions are legendary.

A few of our customers live in the village and probably half of our customers live in the nearby villages of Elloughton, Brough, Welton, Swanland, South Cave, Newport, Broomfleet, Hotham, Ellerker, Gilberdyke, Melton, Kirk Ella, etc. The remainder travel quite some distance.  Since we reopened The Triton in 2007 we know of those who have come from Canada, Australia, Sweden, India, Brazil and California.  New Zealand, Egypt,  Lithuania, Japan, Fiji, Ecuador and Liechtenstein. Not forgetting some Manx, Spaniards, Mexicans and Turks. They are all ages too - we have a 96 year old amoung our regulars but the youngest include Miss Giselle Constantine who has been a regular since she was three days old, back in May 2007.  And there are those for whom every day is Valentine's Day - like Gerard and Joyce Evison of Brantingham seen here holding hands as usual !

Some of our customers:

adrian dancingBev Dawson of Dizzys hair stylists in Cottingham organised a surprise 40th Birthday Party for her busband Adrian at the Triton in January.

Seventy something of his friends and relatives hid behind the curtain to ambush him - he was so surprised he bought the drinks and showed everyone how to dance, the Dizzy way. Well, we THINK it was dancing - what do YOU think?

Here are some of the Brantingham villagers gathered round the Triton baby grand, being played very ably by Mollie in Mauve of Melton (better known to many generations of South Hunsley High School pupils as Mrs) after their Festival of Christmas Carols in December - they just couldn't stop singing when they got to The Triton, so carried right on with a few numbers from South Pacific and My Fair Lady.

The Wedding  of Gaby & Phillip   Saturday 24th July
Geusts at the Wedding Supper on Friday evening were serenaded by  star of the X Factor, and former Triton Staff member, Toby Sumpton, who gave us a great rendition of "Fly Me to the Moon". His sister Gaby (the real star of the show - she is the Bride!) responded with Hopelessly Devoted to You. Both were excellent performances which brought tears to more than a few eyes.

His Last Lunch ???

last supper
Some leaders and their followers may have the Last Supper, but Triton regular Steve Burton decided it would be the Last Lunch when he and his supporters gathered at The Triton on Whit Saturday for a lunch immediately before his wedding at the Church of All Saints in  Brantingham.   Don't the guys look terrific in those patternd white waistcoast?  (Not all our customers look this smart !)

lizOne of our prettiest customers is Liz Cropper who celebrated her 18th at the Triton with her family and friends, and one of our front of house staff, Mike Willey.

They are seen here just before tucking into a birthday cake, about 98% chocolate and about 2% cake this one, and 101% delicious.

If you celebrate your birthday at the Triton and give us some notice, we will usually  provide you with a small birthday cake and candles, and have everyone else sing Happy Birthday to you.  You have to join our birthday Club however - just send details of your name, address and birthday (we don't need to know the year if you are a bit coy about it)  and we will do the rest.

Christmas 2008 was a fun time at the Triton

We often have SAX APPEAL play here - sometimes they rock, and sometimes they are mellow, with background jazz standards but always they are superb musicians. Here is Jake, being mesmerised by Caz's dreamy vocals - we know they are dreamy as it looks like she has fallen asleep!  They are also known as "Sexy and Saxy" - and we are sure you can tell which one is which!
