Coming by foot?       WALKERS & RAMBLERS ALWAYS WELCOME!
The Triton is conveniently situated just a few hundred yards off the Wolds Way, one of Yorkshire's most picturesque tracks. We welcome dozens of walkers most days, our car park is a popular pick-up and drop-off spot.

We also open early for organised parties and can put on coffee or other refreshments much earlier than our regular opening time (12 noon) if there is demand. Call our management team on 01482 667261 to see if we might be open when you are walking through Brantingham in the morning, or to prebook tables for large parties. We can offer attractive rates for large parties wanting tea, coffee, light snacks or full meals.

Coming by Cycle?

Triton CycleWe have literally thousands of visits by cyclists throughout the year - some days we have had as many as over a hundred cyclists on our car park. We're always happy to refill water bottles, you may even get an interesting discussion with some of our staff, several of whom are keen cyclists.

We have several keen cycling clubs meet at The Triton, Thursday seems to be the busiest day for them.  The Triton has a huge car park and is at the crossroads of many routes, being half way between Brough and South cave and at the foot of the beautiful Brantingham Dale, and several bridleways and footpaths.  As well as the Wolds Way, really intended for walkers, we are also on the Trans Pennine Trail.
TPT logoThis is a true cross-UK cycleway running for 215 miles from Southport in Lancashire, through Liverpool, Manchester, 'across the top' and through Barnsley, on to the Triton, then down into Hull and out of the city along the old railway track to Hornsea. Its mapped and signed all the way and is mostly traffic free and is surprisingly level given the stunning scenic views along the way.  You can find out more about the TPT from their web site - just click on their logo on the right to link to it.

Coming by road?
If you have a GPS or other satellite route planner, enter our post code HU15 1QE for directions. We have parking spaces for over 100 cars on the premises and parking is free. Brantingham has no yellow lines or other parking controls but if you park in our village, please respect access and other needs of residents.  If you need to leave your car overnight at the Triton, that's fine by us - just let us know which is yours. Triton customers are welcome to park here while they ramble over the Wolds - again, just let us know before hand. The car park is private and is NOT a part of the public highway - we reserve the right to remove vehicles  which have been left without permission, or to levy charges for unauthorised parking.

DIRECTIONS FROM HULL  & HESSLE
Take the A63 west and then take the turnoff for Brough and Elloughton - about 1 miles past the new Melton intersection and Shell 'Grand Dale' Filling station.  As you leave the A63 take the right hand lane at the traffic lights. On going through the lights you need to turn left for Elloughton.

In Elloughton village turn RIGHT at the cross roads (the Half Moon pub will be in front of you). Follow the road around the left bend and head along a straight road for another mile - Ionians' rugby gorund on the left and the A63 is over a fence on your right. At the T junction ahead follow the road round to the right, over the bridge over the A63, and the Triton is immediately on your left.

DIRECTIONS FROM FROM THE M62
Head east on the M62 and Junction 38 (the eastern end) continue along the A63. Take the next junction (South Cave, Elloughton and Brough) and stay right as you go up and leave the dual carriageway. Turn right and cross the A63 and then,  at the roundabout, go sharp right, passing the Total filling station on your left.  Ahead a quarter of a mile, and then turn LEFT at the signpost for Brantingham. Follow the road around a tight 90 right bend, ahead for half a mile, you will see The Triton in front of you.

DIRECTIONS FROM From MARKET WEIGHTON
Head south along the A1034, through South Cave and then over the A63. At the roundabout on the other side of the A63 take the right hand turn towards Brough, and then the next left - this  turn off is signposted Brantingham. It will lead you back over the A63, around a 90 RH bend and then straight on up to the pub entrance.

DIRECTIONS FROM COTTINGHAM  (approx 8 miles)
Take Eppleworth Road (just 100 yards south of the Lawns entrance) west for about 3 miles, and when you come to the T Junction at raywell, turn right and folloow that road uphill. Go straighht on at Riplingham Cross Roads (take care - several bumps here over the years) and then the next turning LEFT is the top of Brantingham Dale. It is signposted - but no coaches or trucks as Dale Road is pretty narrow in places, and steep. Follow this road downhill and in two miles you are in the village of Brantingham. Keep following the road through the village until it suddenly widens at a T junction - the Triton is now directly in front of you.

DIRECTIONS FROM BEVERLEY  (approx 11 miles)
Take the main B1230 over the Westwood and through Walkington. Uphill to High Hunsley (single tall broadcast tower at the top) and down the other side. At the main road (A1034) turn left and follow it down through South Cave.  Through the town - then over the A63. At the roundabout on the other side of the A63 take the right hand turn towards Brough, and then the next left - this  turn off is signposted Brantingham. It will lead you back over the A63, around a 90 degree RH bend and then straight on up to the pub entrance.

That's the EASY way -  more interesting, much prettier but needing a tad more care, is to turn LEFT just before the radio tower at High Hunsley into Brick Dyke Lane,  then after 1/4 mile sharp RIGHT into Westoby Lane (a real roller coaster road - take care in the deep dips). At the crossroads go ahead, and in half a mile STOP at the main road. You are now at Riplingham Cross Roads. Turn right, and then after 1/4 mile LEFT into Brantingham Dale. Follow the (sometimes steep) Dale Road downhill for 2 miles into Brantingham village - the Triton is in front of you as you leave the village. Take Care on Dale Road - its popular with walkers, is narrow and there are no footpaths until you get to the village.
( NOT recommended in icy weather! )
Parking for over a hundred cars  . . .
nags. . . . .and there is always space for a few horses  complete a fresh pail of water is always provided for all our 4-legged friends).

Here are some of the girls and their mounts  visiting us on a hack out across the Wolds from the Welton Equestian Centre on one of their regular visits to the Triton. Many of the horses know their own way here by now!  The WEC is BHS approved and a Pony Club Centre - take a look at their web site for more details.

The Triton is well situated at the junction of several popular bridle rides. We have a tethering rail built in the wall just inside the entrance and are just about to install some hoops for cycle chaining on the bollards by the front terrace.

However you arrive, you can be certain there is a warm welcome awaiting you
(but Please, leave bikes, dogs, horses and muddy boots outside, for which we thank you).
