EVENTS - it's all happening at The Triton

We stage a variety of events at the Triton - its a really interesting place to be. Some events are open to the public and some are private functions, arranged by various groups and organisations. Some are private corporate events - we make The Triton available for dinners, training days (we have had two really interesting ones here last year, but client confidentiality prevents us telling you too much about them!) product launches and soo on. We also host private functions such as Christenings, weddings, anniversaries and funerals too, not to mention birthday parties but obviously most of those 'family' events are for invited guests of the organisers only. Some events are organised by groups and associations for their members - usually they are interested in increasing their membership and will admit non-members, so please feel free to ask us if you are interested and we can always pass on your request to the organisers.

Friday 28th November          Hessle Jive Club's Christmas Ball

Rodandclair
Another ' SOLD OUT' event at the Triton, though this was only open to members of the Tracey
Hessle Jive Club. Expertly organised by Rod and Clair and their team,  they were our first  Christmas Party of the year and a splendid time was had by all.  Seventy guests sat down for a three course Christmas Dinner, which our brigade of chefs turned out while still attending to regular Saturday night diners in the Triton next door.  We removed the tables in the ballroom during coffee and within 20 miniutes had the room cleared and ready for the nights dancing.  And those guys (and gals) can REALLY Dance.

Hessle Jive is a private club meeting every Wednesday in Hessle Town Hall, where they have expert dance tuition and demonstration sessions, often given by leading dance practitioners from all over the UK.  Its run by Rod and Clair (seen here on the left)  and a small group of enthusiastic dancers, including the ever-lovely Tracey (on the right, dressed as a model!).

Doors open 7.30 pm - 10.30 pm. Beginners are very welcome and beginners' classes begin at 7.45 pm. Intermediate classes and freestyle dancing follow afterwards. No special shoes or clothing are required and no partner is needed. Dancers rotate partners and introduce themselves during the classes. It's a excellent way to make new friends, keep fit and have great fun! Members ages range from 18 - 80. They are a friendly sociable bunch too! Entry on door is £7.00. Lifetime membership is £2.00.

<>Thursday 5 November.
Its a very special day, when a famous Yorkshireman is celebrated and revered. Our manager is named after him, so we could not let this day go without marking it in a very special way. Why not join us, from 6:30 to help celebrate a famous Man of York.

Saturday   14th November     Walking for  Jessica
jessica
Jessica Levine was a lovely girl who many Triton customers knew well. She lived at Gilberdyke and later in Elloughton and loved to walk over the Wolds through our lovely villages.  She contracted cancer, but fought it valiantly for four years.  She died in July 2008 aged 27, and last November almost a hundred of her friends and family walked one of her favourite walks, from the Green Dragon at Welton to The Triton in Brantingham. We held an auction afterwards and had a wonderful afternoon, remembering Jessica and how special she was to us all. That auction has so far raised almost £30,000 - more details can be found at
    http://www.justgiving.com/jessicalevine.

This year we losty a dear old colleague of Pauls, and two of our customers have fought and defeated this terrible infliction. So, we plan to do the same again this year on the 14th November. Jessica always spoke very highly of the MacMillan nurses who tended her and often said she could not have got through half of what she did without their care and support, so the Jessica's Walk orgnaisers decided to donate all proceeds from the walk to the Macmillan Charity.

Please do join us either outside the Green Dragon in Welton for the walk at 1:30, or at the Triton after 3pm, to remember Jessica and raise some more money for MacMillan Cancer relief.
