Cars
and
Bikes at the Triton
always
some
superb motors at The Triton - home of the hot-wheels,
glowing tail pipes and esoteric number plates!

With
car parking spaces for over a hundred cars, The Triton
naturally attracts a wide variety of cars and vehicles.
When we see unusual, strikingingly attractive or notworthy
vehicles we often pop out and get a picture as many of our
team are 'total petrolheads'. We shall be posting many of the
pictures here - maybe YOUR car will appear?
CLASSIC
CAR RALLIES at The Triton in 2012
Wednesday
13th
June 2012 6 - 9pm
Wednesday
29th August 2012 6 - 9pm
Another good turn out last year
for this traditional Annual Meeting and rally at The Triton -
many superb examples of the best of British motoring and some
immigrants too! Not so many classic bikes and scooters this
year as the rain threatened - but it did hold off until after
8:30 so several hundred visitors had a lovely time strolling
around, admiring the exhibits.
We had many of the East
Yorkshire Thoroughbred CCC favourites plus some cars
new to the Triton, including a green Model T Ford, a nice
maroon Mk II Jag called Lewis a Lotus Elan, a jet back Singer
(didn't hear what she sounded like though!) and a gorgous
Chevvy.
Our sincere thanks to Neil and Kath who
organised the event, to all the EYTCC marshalls, the
exhibitors who turned out and of course to all the
viewers - we hope you all enjoyed your evening and we look
forward to seeing you back at The Triton again soon.
Some Classics at The Triton

Is
this
the FUTURE of motoring? The new Jaguar CX75. Its a
hybrid car, combining four electric motors with a pair
of gas turbine engines giving a blistering 0 to 60
in about 3.5 seconds. Click this picture for
a preview.
CAR CLUBS
Several car clubs and groups have regular meets at The Triton.
Its an ideal location, not only because we are so close to the
main A63 / M62 artery, but the surrounding countryside is so
scenic, and our clients are usually appreciative and cast many
admiring looks over the wonderful vehicles. And thats one of
the reasons to own and run a wonderful machine. (and probably
because the food, drink, company and welcome at The Triton are
pretty good too!).
The Piston Heads
. . .car club have an informal gathering at the
Triton on the third Monday of each month. They
normally gather from 7pm onwards - cars among the
regulars include a an Elise, a decatted Ferrari
Challenge Stradale, Aston Martin V8 Prodive, a
Ferrari 360 Spider with Larine Exhuast, am ACS tuned
BMW 1 series, a BMW 650i, a Ferrari 355 GTB, a
Subaru STI, Jamie's Porker 911 and a Porsche Boxster
and often a fair few of the Yorkshire Yanks too,
like Matty Mocon in his lovely Mustang GT.
It is attended mainly by people from Pistonheads.com
and the East Yorks lot are a good bunch, with anyone
being welcome. Its organised by TOM who has a
gorgeous red MR2, mark 1A with a sunroof.
Porsche
Club's
Wolds Wander "a great success."
The
Porsche Club of
Great Britain organised their Wolds Wander
to start from the Triton on Sunday 17th May.
The cars (and owners!) assembled at The Triton from
9 am onwards, enjoying the brilliant Brantingham
sunshine, our best bacon sandwiches and the suual
variety of hot drinks, prior to their being
despatched.
Organiser
Andrew Warner
pronouned the run a "a great success" with no
cars getting lost or breaking down en route. After
their trip over the Wolds, the run finished at
Malton in the early afternoon.
The
Porsche Club of Great Britain is a non profit making
organisation formed in 1961. It is the only such
organisation officially recoignised by Porsche. The
members raise money for charity and the club offers
a variety of benefits for its members - more details
can be found at the club's web-site: http://testpcgb.adnet.co.uk/AboutPCGB/Commercial.aspx

Classics
in the (Car)Park
Last year (2010) was the second year we proudly hosted a meeting
of the East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club; a sort of Triton
version of "Classics in the Park". It was a remarkable
turnout, with around 80 of the best cars from the last six
decades or so, proudly displayed around the Triton Car Park.
indeed, it was so busy that most visitors had to park on the
streets of Brantingham - a good thing that the yellow line
brigade haven'/t been around to mar the beauty of the Wold's
prettiest village. The spectacle was enjoyed by Triton
customers who came to admire these fine marques, so lovingly
restored by their owners.

Two wheels ?
Not forgetting the two-wheeled fraternity, several groups
include the Triton in their organised ride-outs. Among our
regular visitors are the good guys of the HULL
DRIFTERS, shown here lined up in our Car Park in the
middle of one of their ride-outs, raising money for
charity. We have also had visits from other local
scooter clubs - among the badges we've spotted recently are
the Hull Dukes (they
never asked if we had a juke box!), Lambretta Club of Great
Britain, Selby Moving Targets, Hull Scooter Alliance and the Beverley
Scooter Club. Perhaps they come to the
Triton for the soul tracks we play on the background music?

. . and yours ?
Many of our customers also have lovely cars and we often get a
chance to see some really impressive marques at close quarters
in the Triton car park. Here are a selection - is YOURS
included? (if not, then please dont take offence - perhaps you
just came at a time when we were too busy to get out and take
a snap, or maybe the camera's battery was flat!). Please
do feel free to take your own picture and email it to us for
inclusion. Send it to us at this address: web
[at] thetritoninn.com. Thanks in advance,
we look forward to seeing your wheels as well.

Noddy at The Triton
Sancton village has its very own Noddy, aka Alison, and she often
brings her gorgeous car to the Triton, as you can see here:
