Rumblefest
at the Triton
The
Yorkshire Yanks, an American car club
who meet at The Triton on the first Sunday of each month, staged their
first American Car Show at the Triton on American Independence day
2010. ![]() All the money raised went to the HELP FOR HEROES charity - click on their logo for more details. The day was a resounding success with 137 cars being entered for the various classes and hundreds of visitors turned up to admire the gorgeous curves, accompanied by some good old All-American music (espcially the Beach Boys, Chuck Berry and ZZ Top) and interjections and announcements from PA Announcer, American superstar DJ Blake WIlliams, a real life Arizona cowboy! ![]() Best Classic American Car Neal Walker's "Blueshark" '69 Corvette ![]() A note from Chris Parker, Chairman of the Yorkshire Yanks" The amount raised at Rumblefest 2010 for our charity of the year, Help for Heroes is a staggering.. £2,543.53
This figure will grow a little
over the coming weeks as we still have people wanting to buy Rumblefest
T-shirts. We've got a few left in our office, but only in L & XL if
anyone still wants one. We shall have a few with us at the shows and
cruises until they run out or we can mail one out to you if you'd like
one. The price is £12.50 (plus postage and packing if required). Simply gorgeous ! (nice Stingray too!) usually roll up from about 7:00 onwards and stay until well after it
gets
dark.There is usually a great display of Ford GTs, Mustangs, Dodges, Chevies and other exotic Americana - mostly pure muscle machines, and of course their drivers who will be delighted to talk to you about their favourite subject. More details on their own web site. |
